Book Five Publication Date: 3/3/14!

Seeing how life has kept me pretty busy lately, I apologize for the lateness of the publication for the book due out in January! I had some extra editing to do on it, it is substantially bigger than the other books, so it took longer to finish. Anyhow, I know you will all really love it! It is one of my favorites so far!  Thank you friends and fans! I’ll post links once it’s up on Amazon, on 3/3/14!

Betrayal of Weakness, Book Five of The Legends of Sangue coming soon!

Betrayal of Weakness, Book Five of The Legends of Sangue coming soon!

BOWCover

Almost thirty-six years after the tragedy of Queen Tancia Catallino’s brutal murder leaves the royal line and rural community of Sangue, Montana lost and hopeless. The Elemental Circle missing a sorceress on the brink of destruction, impending disaster and mass death, the only person prophesized to find her has gone missing. The tiny town of the underworld suddenly comes to light in the normal mortal world and everything begins to fall apart, with no closure to the cherished Queen’s death and the royal line of Sangue open to enemy attack, all sorceric protection failing with the impending Elemental Circle’s demise, nobody knows what to do.

A surprise visit from the past brings precious new, fragile hope to Sangue, just as the town is attacked and the destruction of the world is all but imminent. It’s anyone’s game, a dangerous game that must be played with utmost caution. Rules have to be broken in the worst ways and old grievances aired, enemies reunited as allies with Sangue and the impossible accomplished before a single chance of survival can be obtained. But can everyone work together peacefully in time to keep tragedy from repeating itself?

Better yet, will the ancient prophecies of Sangue’s survival be fulfilled, the true leader found before all is destroyed and the harrowing sacrifices of the past mean nothing?

Can Sangue’s path to peace finally be restored?

The answer lies within the most shocking of discoveries. And somebody knew the answer all along.

They just haven’t realized it yet.

Busy! Busy! Busy!

1006-summer-fun

Due to the summer pick-up in business and some extra curricular things I’m doing for work and play, blogging is going to be a bit scarce for the month of August! I hope everyone is enjoying the hell out of their summer!

The Six Month Plan

World English Dictionary
Business Plan
-n
A detailed plan setting out the objectives of a business, the strategy and tactics planned to achieve them, and the expected profits, usually over a period of three to ten years.

Stacey Katheryn’s Dictionary

Business Plan

-n

A detailed plan setting out the objectives of her business, all in her mind and scarcely scribbled in miscellaneous notes throughout office, the strategy and tactics planned to achieve such objectives to grow and develop her business, The Village Poet Press, into a small yet sustainable company with continual book sales in a period of Six Months.

Writingiswriting

In the essence of this quote, I will tell you why I am waiting six months to publish my next book and putting the focus on my “business plan”.  I hate the term “business plan” don’t you? It sounds all formal and unpromising and demanding. What I have is a solid understanding of exactly what I want this company to be and exactly how I am going to get there. That was all I needed for my massage practice, and it’s flourishing. That was five months ago.

Ah yes, I was going to tell you why. Because it’s summer, because I’m going to be moving soon, because I’m spending more time editing than I am writing, because my living space is being quadrupled as an office space for the business aspect of my practice, and my Village Poet office/writing/researching space and storage space and I am having a very, very difficult time with it. It’s going to reflect in my writing, and to put the best to the test, I’ve had ONE book sale on book four, and that was my best friend Jay (thank you, Jay).

I love my blog, I will definitely continue to blog, but from here I will be pursuing avenues of marketing and business development and essentially, what I’ve done for my massage practice. Hopefully by the end of these six months, I’ll have a readership. Book Five is a VERY important book to the series (and me), and I want people to enjoy it.

Also, once I move and have a bigger space for my writing, I’ll be able to WRITE and not have to worry about all the aspects that shouldn’t be allowed to enter my mind while I’m writing.

So, wish me luck! 🙂

And…. ACTION!

I don’t have a lot of time, I must make this brief (haha, get it, “brief”). I’m sunburned and I must go put on some aloe, or who knows what may happen (Um, it might stay a little redder a little longer. Maybe itch a little.)

I have some challenges I must soon face. Massaging and choreographing and dancing and performing as a dead woman in one half a commercial (in the other half I’m alive) but I play somebody who is ten years older than myself. (Hey, in the play, I’m ten years younger, so… yeah.) I must say, since the two balance one another out, I won’t take it as a commentary upon my age. I can play a 19 year old as well as a 39 year old, I say I’m ok (Ha. Ha. So far people can believe the mother of two teenagers more than the 19 year old. Well, depending on who you ask. I’m just sorry I asked anyone, hehe.)

Ah yes, and I’m acting. And choreographing a dance number for me and two other gals, who I have yet to find but you know, it’ll happen.

One is a scripted commercial and the other is a half scripted/half improvised murder mystery play. The best of both worlds. I was privy to be witness to the shooting of a commercial in the same series of commercials I’m taking part in. Makes me wish I’d gone to the Art Institute of Seattle for film directing after all, lol (But don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want to be anything but a massage therapist now and becoming one changed my life in miraculous ways, I am immensely forever grateful to my teachers and clients and colleagues and profession.)

But don’t worry, I’m still writing (EDITING at the moment, I hardly call that RELEASING MY INNER CREATIVITY. Why yes, this word is misspelled I must take all the magical creativity within my soul and… and…. correct it! Yawn.).

It was difficult not speaking up when I was watching the director with his camera. I gave some advice but I wanted to get in there and adjust angles and pipe up with story line ideas and go hog-wild crazy, at the same time I wanted to jump in front of that camera and start going wild. It was wild, haha. REPETITIVE. Rehearse. Do it once. GREAT! Let’s try it a couple more times. I THINK THAT’S THE ONE!! Let’s do it a few more times just to be sure. TENTH TIME IS THE CHARM!!! Yeah!!!! Now, let’s do the exact same thing twice as many times from two other angles…. HEHE. All the while the man playing the bad guy is standing in the background bored to tears and absentmindedly playing with his switch blade (creepy), and I inadvertently insulted a cop (I saw him in costume and said “nice get up” I meant the compliment and he thanked me. Haha. Finding out later he was in his work clothes…. He was good humored about it. And, actually, he was a sheriff playing a cop…. In another county than the one I am located in “phew”)

(Though, nobody would take my suggestion that once the girl shot the bad guy who was going to murder her and was later giving her account of it to the cop, that he pat her on the shoulder and say “thanks for saving me a bullet”)

Anyway, that was my first taste of film acting and it was pretty incredible. I have yet to have my first taste of play acting and improvisation (other than drama class um, for the sake of my pride we’ll say “eh, just a few” years ago, because it certainly isn’t over a decade and a half or anything.) We’ll give my teacher at the time the title of “bitter ex actor taking her frustrations out on her students” and….. ACTION!

Yes I have a coach. I have not yet taken his class but he has helped me out and we get along rather well. He has faith in me and I’ll tell you, it’s a nice feeling. I have faith in me too.

So… where was I? Oh yes I started this in a mutilated prison-letter-asking-for-help-in-a-melodramatic-way and ended it with, well, this.

My sunburn itches.

Have a wonderful day!

Stacey

“Partners In Crime” Episode 4 (My Day In A Short Noir)

film_noir_by_andrewastonishing-d2vycos

She almost forgot what she was doing… almost. But only because she forgot to reread the previous episode. She was rarely so careless, but present circumstances had her… confused… bedazzled.

That’s right! The storm. The thunder and lightening, so very loud, it would make sneaking back home for dinner not so easy. Because if she was about, that meant other bindle stiffs were walking the streets as well, oblivious to the lightning, oblivious to the… danger.

But Danger… was her middle name.

Film Noir 3

Unfortunately, the storm grew so bad all she could do was stand against a lamppost in the fog. But that was just fine, because as we’ve established, she likes standing against lampposts. A lot.

images2

It didn’t take her long to get her dinner and sneak back inside, where Gibbs waited, expectantly, impatiently. She begged for him to go outside, to see the streets so muddled and full of danger, to understand why it took so long for her return. But he just wouldn’t. “Can’t you see I’m busy, darling?”

Busy. Busy clipping an innocent pillow and giving her pants the chiv like this was some kind of gooseberry lay. She began to wonder if he was a dropper in disguise. Seemed every time she turned around he was bumping off someone else.  It made her wonder if it was all about the scratch, or if he was some kind of conman out for hot iron or possibly a shamus that fell in the game a little too deep.

With that, she could relate.

images

It was time to eat now, but all she could think about was this big Dog, trying to get in her lap like she was some kind of tomato or rube, begging for her scraps. But she was no easy mark, she knew his game.  A little too well. “Hey there bruno, what do you think you’re doing? I’m no sap. You can’t take me down that easy.”

Or could he?

“Partners In Crime” Episode 3 (My Day In A Short Noir)

tumblr_mm3nijMyKW1r9zo3bo1_1280

So there they were. Just she and Gibbs. It became evident quite quickly that this was not a mission she could afford to fail, nor a job she could turn down. He liked to run, and he jogged at just her pace. This wasn’t a partnership she could easily turn down with a clear conscience, nor one she would even want to. It was time to work together.

Yet still, the question remained… Just how far could she trust him?

images

It was a small job, once they’d agreed to work together without ratting one another out to the bulls for past deeds done cheap. No, it was time to move beyond that. It was time for… dinner.

Dinner, you say. Well, she had to admit it was a bit easier for him, being a Dog in his own domain he had his ducks in a row, and what a fine row it was. New to the scene, a steady feeling of unease overcoming her, she began to realize this wasn’t going to be as easy as it looked. She would have to get back into disguise and sneak back into her old district to rustle up some grub, sneak back without the bulls and snitches being the wiser. And she had to do it alone.

It wasn’t anything she hadn’t done before, she was a pro, an ace, she could do it without issue.

Then the storm hit.
